Collections

As of December 31, 2024, the Library Branch has been home to 40,562 volumes of books, of which 23,983 volumes are books donated by Saudi Arabia. The collection of books is mainly distributed in the reading room on the ground floor and the compact stacks at the basement level one. The reading room has different areas for reference books, course reserves, and the books in display, providing rich book resources such as references, new collections, special collections of the Library Branch, Chinese and English books, and Arabic books ranging from linguistics, literature, art, history to geography. Arabic books of other categories mainly stay on the compact stacks at the basement level one.

In order to strengthen the electronic resources service for the teaching and research of the Arabic Language Department as well as the country/region studies of Peking University, the Library Branch has purchased 31 academic electronic resource databases and 54 sub databases, including 38,787 e-books and 4,814 electronic periodicals.
